The Aprica Euro Turn design was inspired by research that suggests that allowing babies to lie flat enhances their breathing and circulation, and offers better protection from stop-and-start movement in the car, in addition to helping prevent traumatic impact during an accident. This is not a lightweight, all-purpose carrier: the Euro Turn is especially concerned with securing small babies (under the age of 6 months, from 2.5 kg/51/, Ib).

It is mounted similarly to most car seats in a forward or rear-facing direction, but the inner ‘bed’ of the seat can then be rotated and clicked into a highly stable flattened position up to 170 degrees. Harness and additional padding around the baby’s head ensure the baby is snugly secured. Once a child is older, the seat can be used in a more conventional position up to 4 years of age (maximum 18 kg/39 Ib). A thermal ventilation system keeps babies from overheating, and double-layer head protection and a cushioned foot pad give added security.

Forward-facing mode.

This mode should be used only when baby reaches a minimum of 9kg in weight (Group 1 stage). Suitable for use until your toddler reaches 18kg in weight (up to 4 years).

Lie-flat mode.

In this mode your baby can lie flat. This mode is suitable for longer car journeys when baby is unable to sit up unaided (normally during the Group 0 stage).
